path to carbon neutrality
We partnered with Telstra Business Technology Centre of Geelong, Hoppers Crossing and Footscray in Victoria, Australia, to achieve Carbon Neutrality in 2025. The business centres decided to initiate the path towards sustainability as a way to minimise their impact on the planet and help the community.
Climate Society started an assessment of the carbon dioxide emissions, including Scope 1, 2 and 3. After after working together both Telstra TBTC and Climate Society decided to join the Carbon Neutral Now program.
Pledge for the Planet
The business centres formalised their commitment to make the efforts to quantify their carbon dioxide emissions, plan and implement actions to reduce those emissions and offset the unavoidable emissions through a pledge that was sent to the United Nations.
Carbon Neutrality on 2025
The Emissions Reduction Strategy designed by Climate Society estimates that the business centres will achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2025 though a combination of emissions reduction and offsetting. Emissions reduction programs are being implemented through innovation, business process improvements, and energy efficiency.
Inspire 2022 Sustainability and Environment Award
The Telstra Business Technology Centre of Geelong, Hoppers Crossing and Footscray won the Inspire 2022 Sustainability and Environment Award. Climate Society is proud to have contributed to the sustainability journey that Telstra Business Technology Centre has decided to initiate.
